Do I have to make any changes in my mailserver?
Not necessarily. If you choose to run Pinjo on another (extra) machine then no changes are necessary.
But if you choose to run Pinjo on the same machine as your mailserver, then yes you do, but you can choose between a 2 simple ones.
- You can change the standard SMTP port settings for your mailserver to another port, eg. from 25 to 26. Pinjo will receive all incoming mail and forward it to your original mailserver on the adjusted port.
- You can add another IP-number to your server. Then configure Pinjo to listen only to one IP-number instead of all numbers. Pinjo will receive all incoming mail and forward it to your original mailserver on the original port. This solution may used when its hard to change the listening port of your mailserver.
